MAY 24 (THUR) — 1:00pm: OLD GOLDENS BRIDGE WALK FOR SENIORS: An easy 45-min walk (and a little history) of the lovely Old Goldens Bridge Reservoir Trail. We will finish this slow-paced walk with a stroll through the hamlet of Old Goldens Bridge, and a reception at the Katonah Art Center. All mobile seniors invited and welcomed! Meet at the entrance to the trail which is 1/8th mile past the art center at 65 Old Bedford Road, Old Goldens Bridge. Please do not park at the art center; please park in the dirt parking area after the cul de sac. Look for our signs. Led by Bobbe Stultz. Steady rain cancels.
JUNE 2 (SAT) – 10:00am, TWO GUIDED HIKES CELEBRATING NATIONAL TRAILS DAY. Enjoy seeing a ravine with 25 foot cliffs, wetlands rich in wildlife, diverse hardwood forest, and ruins of a mansion! Two hikes offered: a short one (30 mins) and a longer one (1 ½ hrs). Co-led by Lewisboro Land Trust and Lewisboro’s Open Space and Preserve Advisory Committee. JUNE 10 (SUN) – 10:30am, YOGA & QUIET WALK AT OLD FIELD PRESERVE. We will gather at the Old Field Preserve Meditation Garden for a 45 minute Yoga practice led by Kripalu Institute instructor, Bobbe Stultz. Then we will explore external and internal sensations as we embark on a 30-minute quiet, reflective walk through the preserve. 10:30am-12:00pm. Meet at the parking area of Old Field Preserve, on Mead Street, Waccabuc,

JULY 8 (SUN)- 9:30 am, GUIDED HIKE AT MOUNTAIN LAKES PARK, NORTH SALEM, Enjoy a cool early morning hike passing a lake and through the forest to Westchester’s highest point. Moderate terrain, 3 miles, about 1 ½ hrs. Meet at Mt. Lakes Park office, off Hawley Road, North Salem. Dogs on leash welcomed. Led by Peggy Nordgren. Steady rain cancels.
JULY 21 (SAT) – 9:00am, NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP AT WARD POUND RIDGE RESERVATION, CROSS RIVER. This 2hr program teaches you how to capture the beauty of Nature around you. You’ll learn how to take better pictures of birds, wildlife, flowers, landscapes, and more. Bring your own camera. Led by Frank Mantlik, a professional wildlife photographer, and an avid birder and naturalist for over 30 years. 2 hrs. AUG 19 (SUN) – 1:30 pm, BERRY HUNT NATURE WALK– FORAGING WITH STEVE BRILL AT OLD FIELD PRESERVE, Waccabuc. Join us as we learn about foraging for surprisingly delicious edibles in our own backyards! “Wildman” Steve Brill, naturalist, educator, author, artist, and enthusiast-supreme, shows us what to look for and where to find delectables such as berries, herbs, veggies, roots, and mushrooms. Meet at Old Field Preserve parking lot off Mead Street, across from Schoolhouse Road (Note: GPS navigation is unreliable). AUG 25 (SAT)– 10:00am, “ART MEETS NATURE” KIDS NATURE ART PROGRAM AT KATONAH ART CENTER. For grades 1-5, bring your imagination, creativity, and love for nature to transform a quiet grove into a magical fairy garden. We will walk in nature, gathering small plants, nuts, sticks, and other natural materials. and then create a community for our fairies and woodland creatures. 2 hrs. SEPT 1 (SAT) –9:00 am, LATE SUMMER GUIDED HIKE: Join us on a 3 hr ramble of the Rock Trail at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Hike through varied terrain through forests, meadows and views connecting six major rock formations. Meet Michigan Road parking lot, WPRR, rte 121, Cross River.
